Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:02 pm (141.154.96.67)
www.mediafire.com/?72ox1nptfxz On second listen, I am enjoying quite a bit
level60WIZARD - 06/22/07 - 1:04 pm (71.124.165.10)
ill admit it. i loved turn on the bright lights circa 2002. i really did.
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:12 pm (141.154.96.67)
oh I always forget that no one but me likes this band anymore.
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:14 pm (66.150.206.1)
i still like this band. it took a while for me to like them because the vocals annoyed me but eventually the songwriting won out. they have a super-tight rhythm section. "antics" is really good also.
lint - 06/22/07 - 1:15 pm (74.69.241.93)
is the bitrate really atrocious on this or what
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:16 pm (66.150.206.1)
it's 160, unfortunately. i think i'll wait for a better leak or until the album release.
ManxomeFoe - 06/22/07 - 1:17 pm (198.4.159.6)
no way, I love interpol. I'm gonna listen to this tonight.
lint - 06/22/07 - 1:17 pm (74.69.241.93)
i cant believe people still rip things at less than even 192
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:17 pm (141.154.96.67)
its not great, but definitely listenable. Its growing on me like all their albums. I love antics too. Not Even Jail is probably my favorite song. the twin guitar sound and the INCREDIBLE rhythm section are many reasons why I love interpol.
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:18 pm (66.150.206.1)
my favorite is probably "narc" or whichever one has the supertriumph bridge part.
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:18 pm (141.154.96.67)
yeah I'd like to have held out for higher bitrate, but I have been DYING to hear this.
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 1:18 pm (67.151.118.51)
I really like TOTBL still, but Antics was pretty severely lacking...
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:19 pm (66.150.206.1)
DISAGREE MARTIN how many listens did you give it? the vocals are way more dynamic on "antics" and i am pretty into that.
flax - 06/22/07 - 1:19 pm (63.175.28.30)
I tried to dl this yesterday, but it turned out to be the Killers mislabeled. I personally have never much loved this band, but Sarah loves them...
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:19 pm (141.154.96.67)
Rest My Chemistry is so good. No I in Threesome is fun
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:21 pm (141.154.96.67)
I didn't like Antics at first, except for 'length of love' but it grew on me like a bacteria
flax - 06/22/07 - 1:23 pm (63.175.28.30)
Also, this got taken down. Can someone maybe sendspace?
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:27 pm (141.154.96.67)
I'll try to sendspace my connection has been real slow lately
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 1:29 pm (67.151.118.51)
DISAGREE MIKE the songwriting had so much less imagination on Antics. I listened to it a lot, I tried to like it as much. Vocal dynamics couldn't save more boring songs. Also, they TOTALLY DESTROY "A Time To Be So Small" from its far superior s/t EP version (instead of vastly improving, as they did with "PDA" on TOTBL)
flax - 06/22/07 - 1:29 pm (63.175.28.30)
Sweet.
flax - 06/22/07 - 1:30 pm (63.175.28.30)
Also, I thought PDA was better on the black EP.
cmusnyder - 06/22/07 - 1:32 pm (141.154.96.67)
i will agree w/ mr. ender on "narc". that song is great.
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:33 pm (66.150.206.1)
i haven't heard anything besides the LPs so i have no frame of reference for multi-version songs
farhad - 06/22/07 - 1:34 pm (76.24.22.134)
i listened to both turn on the bright lights and antics the other day and was pleasantly surprised with how much i still enjoyed them.
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 1:37 pm (67.151.118.51)
flax - 06/22/07 at 04:30 pm (63.175.28.30) Also, I thought PDA was better on the black EP do you mean the EP matador released before TOTBL or the EP they self-released (which was more grey than black)? "A Time To Be So Small" on the self-released EP is so good, all watery and awesome.
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:44 pm (141.154.96.67)
I saw interpol open for ash before TOTBL and thought they were boring. weird
flax - 06/22/07 - 1:45 pm (63.175.28.30)
The self-released... It was the first thing I heard by them and I liked it til I saw them live and thought they were boring. Resultantly, have never really been into them since.
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 1:46 pm (67.151.118.51)
They never had much appeal live. I kind of got over my initial snores at their live show because the EP was still really good.
ender - 06/22/07 - 1:47 pm (66.150.206.1)
i don't ever want to see them live. i can tell i like the music partially because of the production and i imagine their stage presence would annoy me, plus the huge crowd, plus the unlikeliness of their sound being as satisfying as it is on record. i'm perfectly content to blast their albums and enjoy them that way.
ManxomeFoe - 06/22/07 - 1:49 pm (198.4.159.6)
wow. I've seen them 3 times live and I thought it was pretty excellent every time.
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 1:50 pm (67.151.118.51)
| I saw them 4 times, once at Start! night (*smrk*), once at the Middle East upstairs, and 2 times
downstairs. I actually have no idea why I saw them so many times, but nonetheless.. The big problem
with them is that they sound EXACTLY LIKE THE RECORD live and don't really have much of a stage
presence. I think I saw them so many times because besides the Start night time, it was always free for me as I worked at the Middle East so I figured "why not?" |
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:50 pm (141.154.96.67)
yeah I like them a lot live now. I didn't back then though.
SeanF - 06/22/07 - 1:52 pm (66.30.197.251)
"Narc" is my ringtone.
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 1:53 pm (141.154.96.67)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/td6shp
lint - 06/22/07 - 1:56 pm (74.69.241.93)
yeah this record is pretty good regardless of crappy bitrate. download it anyway folks! big fan of "pace is the trick"
lint - 06/22/07 - 2:00 pm (74.69.241.93)
"all fired up" is a banger as well!
Ian - 06/22/07 - 2:10 pm (199.94.69.48)
i'm sure this will sound vastly different from their other releases
Rory - 06/22/07 - 2:24 pm (71.232.46.111)
I like the first two songs thus far
jose - 06/22/07 - 2:40 pm (24.218.216.137)
i liked some songs off the first album. i hate when people compare me to him. compare me to jim morrisson. but paul banks? he sounds like a nasal muppet (i just look like one)
jose - 06/22/07 - 2:41 pm (24.218.216.137)
i wont download this and will probably hear the single and go "thats not bad"
tinobeat - 06/22/07 - 2:41 pm (67.151.118.51)
you? to paul banks? I would never make that connection...
jose - 06/22/07 - 2:42 pm (24.218.216.137)
actually i liked both singles from the second record. i'm just annoyed at being compared to someone who sounds nothing like me.
iheartlawyers - 06/22/07 - 2:47 pm (72.234.149.19)
who is comparing you to jim morrison? what?
flax - 06/22/07 - 2:47 pm (63.175.28.30)
It's cuz you both <3 Chameleons UK
jose - 06/22/07 - 2:50 pm (24.218.216.137)
i thought they didn't know anything about music.
jose - 06/22/07 - 2:51 pm (24.218.216.137)
in other words they seem to deny everything they are compared to. which i guess i do too. but i really LOVE chameleons.
Hunter - 06/22/07 - 3:25 pm (24.218.221.238)
paul banks has been sounding more like michael stipe lately
lint - 06/22/07 - 3:27 pm (74.69.241.93)
man you don't sound like either one of those motherfuckers
sacklunch - 06/22/07 - 4:15 pm (76.19.113.66)
Jose reminds me of Richard Butler with a deeper voice.
lint - 06/22/07 - 4:16 pm (74.69.241.93)
Jose reminds ME of Richard Simmons with bigger hair.
donnapoleon - 06/22/07 - 4:23 pm (4.156.189.50)
I fucking love Interpol. Really looking forward to this.
radioswthrt - 06/22/07 - 4:25 pm (76.24.13.92)
i'm a pretty casual enjoyer of this band but when i saw them maybe a year and a half ago it was really really fun.
lint - 06/22/07 - 4:27 pm (74.69.241.93)
does anyone wanna talk about the cd?!
BlastsOfStatic - 06/22/07 - 5:07 pm (24.62.5.163)
Props to Flax for mentioning the whole Chameleons UK thing -- I've been saying that since I first heard the PDA single.
jose - 06/22/07 - 6:18 pm (24.218.216.137)
"lint - 06/22/07 at 07:16 pm (74.69.241.93) Jose reminds ME of Richard Simmons with bigger hair." shut your gay ass scarecrow face and suck a tin man penis.

let's work to re-up this plzzz
lint - 06/22/07 - 8:24 pm (74.69.241.93)
jose judging by your pop culture references i'm gonna assume you just started sweatin' with the oldies
lint - 06/22/07 - 8:30 pm (74.69.241.93)
boner on ya face son
jose - 06/22/07 - 9:06 pm (24.218.216.137)

jose - 06/22/07 - 9:10 pm (24.218.216.137)
sorry for saying fag. i learned it from watching robin. won't use it again. i'm ugly like you, but i have a beautiful girlfriend. i also have a brain. you should suck a curtain man for some therapy.
Dirigo - 06/23/07 - 12:26 am (74.69.251.232)
slapfight.
lint - 06/23/07 - 12:30 am (74.69.241.93)
| man. you should've figured out by now that i was joking but now you just look a little silly even
without the fag line that said i considered dropping the "the only difference between you and me is that you have a band to make yourself seem cool" joint but i was like naw both of us can get laid either way so then i was thinking like "both of us get laid by hot bitches in the same city we live in" but then i was like shit dude's girlfriend lives across the whooole country, that's not funny. but i still think your posting is pretty solid, and your band is pretty good. |
jose - 06/23/07 - 12:38 am (24.218.216.137)
sorry i basically lost my mind tonight. going sober is rough.
lint - 06/23/07 - 12:41 am (74.69.241.93)
it's cool, it was pretty funny, fighting on the internet is good times especially when you don't mean it
lint - 06/23/07 - 12:42 am (74.69.241.93)
plus i'm basically a drunk so i can really relate to a need to get sober and how weird it feels
jose - 06/23/07 - 12:43 am (24.218.216.137)
true dat. and now insomnia! i remember this part.
uallach - 06/23/07 - 1:32 am (208.120.200.204)
