| There will be approximately 2 other people on this board who will enjoy this thread but I don't
care. This is to share some of the sweet, sweet country sounds produced between 1988 and now. I will
start off with one of my favorites: Tracy Lawrence - Time Marches On |
dink - 2/8/10, 9:27 am
when I get home I will watch this. I'm very excited. I love me some modern country music!

Eli - 2/8/10, 9:33 am

Miranda Lambert - Me and Charlie Talking
strunkles - 2/8/10, 11:01 am
I will DL all this stuff later. I always mean to learn more about country music.
Eli - 2/8/10, 11:04 am
These are just youtube clips but I'll upload some whole albums if people are interested. It's important to note that it's definitely worth it to dive into earlier country music before getting into this stuff, but that doesn't mean modern country is of any less quality
Eli - 2/8/10, 11:22 am
Brad Paisley - Wrapped Around
TheStallion - 2/8/10, 12:08 pm
Hot Ron Scorcher - For Remy
Eli - 2/8/10, 12:11 pm

TheStallion - 2/8/10, 12:13 pm
jeez fine whatever
RADICALDREAMERS - 2/8/10, 12:17 pm
ive been known to listen to 102.5 now and again
Eli - 2/8/10, 12:26 pm
It is a damn good station, there is no country station in New York which is a travesty
kevinconnor - 2/8/10, 12:42 pm
steve holy - brand new girlfriend
Eli - 2/8/10, 12:46 pm
Great song, thanks Kevin
greenlegs - 2/8/10, 12:58 pm
| John Anderson - Straight
Tequila Night Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee Tim McGraw - Indian Outlaw |
Eli - 2/8/10, 1:11 pm
Great additions, John Anderson is one of my favorites. I'll try to find Seminole Wind
tintern - 2/8/10, 2:32 pm
| So glad Eli mentioned Miranda Lambert. I'd like to second "Me And Charlie Talking",
actually, that whole album "Kerosene" by her is really good. This is by far my favorite
though: Miranda Lambert - "Kerosene" amusingly enough, I stumbled across her trying to find the lyrics for the Big Black song of the same name. |
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:28 pm
That Tracy Lawrence song doesn't do much for me, he's trying too hard. Clint Black is better than I expected, honestly. Vaguely reminds me of classic Nashville system country, but not as good. The Trisha Yearwood song is like a classic example of when modern country just starts to sound like John Cougar Mellencamp with pedal steel overdubs. Might as well be Brian Adams or something.
hellrell - 2/8/10, 5:30 pm
I PRETTY MUCH LIKE ALL MUSIC EXCEPT RAP AND COUNTRY
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:30 pm
Okay, that Tracy Byrd Warcraft video is funny. The song sounds like a Johnny Paycheck out-take or something.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:36 pm
Lee Ann Womack and Tim McGraw are pretty inoffensive I guess.
Eli - 2/8/10, 5:36 pm
Morgan, this isn't a thread to be critical, it's a thread to embrace the sound! I love Tracy Lawrence, love his voice and everything about it. You gotta understand that country music today isn't really marketed to the same audience it used to be, it's grown to encompass alot more age and class groups which I think makes for great writing that addresses problems no other kinds of music address
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:38 pm
That Toby Keith song tricked me, I was expecting a cover of "Drink Up And Be Somebody" BUT NO. Is he fucking serious?
Eli - 2/8/10, 5:38 pm
| John Anderson - Seminole
Wind Vince Gill - One More Last Chance Vince Gill - When I Call Your Name |
Eli - 2/8/10, 5:39 pm
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:38 pm That Toby Keith song tricked me, I was expecting a cover of "Drink Up And Be Somebody" BUT NO. Is he fucking serious? Who sings that song? Dude you just gotta listen with a little bit more of an open mind, when the chorus kicks in to that song it feels AMAZING
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:42 pm
Yeah but dude, the title and basic idea are like 99.99% stolen from a Merle Haggard song. That's some fucking seriously shameless brass balls, dude.
TheStallion - 2/8/10, 5:42 pm
Eli - 2/8/10, 12:11 pm I don't know what that is but it probably doesn't belong in this thread Eli - 2/8/10, 5:36 pm Morgan, this isn't a thread to be critical, it's a thread to embrace the sound! this thread is B.S.!
Eli - 2/8/10, 5:42 pm
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:36 pm Lee Ann Womack and Tim McGraw are pretty inoffensive I guess. The Lee Ann Womack song is like a Candi Staton Outtake, SO GOOD
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:45 pm
Honestly I've heard newer country that I like okay. The things that bug me most are the production (which is pretty much a pointless gripe, time marches on, country dudes' guitars sound like Bruce Springsteen records, old man yells at cloud, so it goes) and when the one-liners and songwriter zingers just feel like they're trying too hard.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 5:48 pm
I gotta get back to work but I'll check out some more later. SELL ME ON THIS ONE, GUYS.
retep - 2/8/10, 5:51 pm
Tim McGraw - Red Rag Top always liked this one
RyanMcGinty - 2/8/10, 5:55 pm
i prefer to pretend the genre ceased to exist somewhere around 1970
Eli - 2/8/10, 6:12 pm
RyanMcGinty - 2/8/10, 5:55 pm i prefer to pretend the genre ceased to exist somewhere around 1970 Then you should listen to some of these songs. Morgan, I have a ton of Hag records (as you know) and I've never heard that song. Lots of people steal titles and ideas though and think this one is still great
adamh - 2/8/10, 6:15 pm
Wade Hayes "old enough to know better"
Eli - 2/8/10, 6:23 pm
Great song!
chrissie - 2/8/10, 6:57 pm
I like Dwight Yoakam and Dixie Chicks. I'm interested in you uploading whole albums cuz I got like zilch on my computer.
chrissie - 2/8/10, 6:59 pm
I have a bunch of Whiskeytown if people like that?
Eli - 2/8/10, 7:04 pm
I'll put up some stuff tomorrow
djd - 2/8/10, 10:34 pm
I don't care what anyone says, this song rules: Carrie Underwood—Before He Cheats
capndannn - 2/8/10, 10:36 pm
i kind of have a soft spot for modern country because they're at least trying to do something creative with words, even if they're usually about getting drunk or driving a pickup truck
eli - 2/8/10, 10:37 pm
That song does rule, I even like "Jesus take the wheel"
djd - 2/8/10, 10:38 pm
I went through a big Country 102.5 WKLB phase a couple summers ago. If you don't like "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" there is something wrong with you.
capndannn - 2/8/10, 10:38 pm
dude could drive for a hippie
chrissie - 2/8/10, 10:40 pm
I like Carrie's voice.
eli - 2/8/10, 10:41 pm
djd - 2/8/10, 10:38 pm I went through a big Country 102.5 WKLB phase a couple summers ago. If you don't like "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" there is something wrong with you. Agreed. I love pretty much everything Alan Jackson does, his writing continually blows my mind
capndannn - 2/8/10, 10:43 pm
buffett kind of ruins it
djd - 2/8/10, 10:47 pm
| Naw, the first time I heard that song I was so tickled that Jimmy Buffett actually came in! I
remember thinking in the early part that this was a total Jimmy Buffett sentiment. Of course, I also
occasionally find myself singing the JB greatest hits album I listened to nonstop in 10th grade. I get a thrill out of "Who Says You Can't Go Home." I love the chorus. Damn, I should start listening to that station again. I only quit because it went through an impossible two-month slump. |
eli - 2/8/10, 10:47 pm
Yeah he does, I don't understand country's current fascination with Jimmy Buffet, but whatever still a good song
eli - 2/8/10, 10:52 pm
Yeah I saw Sugarland at Madison Square Garden and they were actually great. Opening for Keith Urban who was terrible. I got free tickets, btw, I would not have paid for Keith Urban
capndannn - 2/8/10, 10:56 pm
i like country music's happy songs about alcoholism because the denial makes them even more depressing than the sad ones
anonuser - 2/8/10, 10:56 pm
LOL This thread is fucking whack.
eli - 2/8/10, 10:58 pm
that's really all you could come up with?
anonuser - 2/8/10, 10:59 pm
I'm reformed eli. But Tim McGraw? Really?? COME THE FUCK ON
eli - 2/8/10, 10:59 pm
Dan here's a good one Brad Paisley - Alcohol
eli - 2/8/10, 11:00 pm
Tim McGraw made some great records man, recently he's definitely taken a pretty big slide but in the 90s he was killin it
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:02 pm
I don't know dude. I can't get behind this fake ass CMT country shit. You might as well drop some Trace Atkins or that she think's my tractor's sexy in here
eli - 2/8/10, 11:02 pm
But the Tim Mcgraw records on here are definitely my favorites that I've posted, though they are still good
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:04 pm
Looking back over this stuff it's obvious you just like slick pop fake ass country
eli - 2/8/10, 11:05 pm
Trace Adkins is great, and I do enjoy that song. The best thing about this music is that it's NOT fake! They are playing music by and for a certain piece of the American populus and it's totally 100% real and that is one of the many reasons I love it.
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:06 pm
Yeah the NASCAR piece of the populace
eli - 2/8/10, 11:08 pm
I'm really not going to get into an argument in this thread, especially with you, but if this music is "fake" country then what is real country? This is real country music for the people who really listen to it, today, you can't argue with that.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:09 pm
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:06 pm Yeah the NASCAR piece of the populace I don't understand how that's an insult, but whatever you want to believe man
capndannn - 2/8/10, 11:09 pm
watch out eli, he's lived in texas for over 2 years
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:10 pm
This record is awesome Not fake ass country Not even country and it's more real than Tim McGraw
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:12 pm
Country music is played in dance halls and honky tonks not stadiums
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:15 pm
That Alan Jackson song is okay. Definitely can't get behind the Berklee-style groovy rhythm section on "Me And Charlie Talking", and "Kerosene" might as well be the Goo Goo Dolls. John Anderson, also not bad. Heard it before somewhere. Vince Gill sounds like the Georgia Satellites.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:17 pm
Dude, did you listen to "When I Call Your Name"?!? That song is DEEP. Anyway, again the point of this thread was not to argue but to celebrate. If you don't want to be converted, then don't be, but I think you're missing out on great songwriting, great singing and just generally great music.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:18 pm
| Ah, "Drink Up And Be
Somebody" by Merle Haggard, 1967. The comments are amazing, even by youtube's generous standards. |
eli - 2/8/10, 11:18 pm
And Morgan, you know me and you know that I love Wayne Hancock and Merle and Lefty Frizell and Webb Pierce too. In fact, I have a pretty massive collection of Honky Tonk and Bluegrass records, and I STILL love this music, so it's not a case of me knowing one and not the other.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:19 pm
I actually just listened to the first Vince Gill track, working my way down the thread.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:20 pm
Hah, I have that Merle record, I guess I just forgot about this track. Personally, I love Merle but the chorus to the Toby Keith song just beats it. Call me sacrilegious for saying it.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:21 pm
Hey, I'm definitely not saying you don't know anything! I think you and Spraker have a tolerance for pop country that's open-minded but sometimes baffling to me.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:23 pm
Hah you should see me and Ryan on tour man, when I'm driving and Ryan is shotgun or the other way around it is not pretty for the rest of the band. I am a firm believer that when driving through Oklahoma, Garth Brooks is the only soundtrack you should have.
anonuser - 2/8/10, 11:24 pm
OK. I'm fucking out! ?Garth motherfucking brooks?!?!?@??@
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:25 pm
Oh man, call an extraction team because Eli is officially IN TOO DEEP. Also, Brad Paisley song is okay. Nice almost-sweep-picking, buddy.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:28 pm
Here it is baby Garth Brooks - Two of a Kind (Working on a Full House)
eli - 2/8/10, 11:29 pm
Dude Brad Paisley can fucking play, that dude is serious. He's no George Paul, but he can shred
eli - 2/8/10, 11:30 pm
Garth Brooks - Beaches of Cheyenne
chrissie - 2/8/10, 11:32 pm
I love Lucinda Williams too: "Righteously" I never really got into poppy-country.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:34 pm
Somehow got them out of order. Backing up... Can't handle Steve Holy. Is he fucking serious with "I'm riding shotgun like a shitzu hound"? Tim McGraw isn't doing much for me. Not really bad, just sounds like a rock song.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:35 pm
Yeah that Steve Holy track is newer and pretty silly.
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:35 pm
Seriously though guys: Ian Tyson "Summer Wages"
eli - 2/8/10, 11:38 pm
| David Ball - Riding with
Private Malone Great track and one of the best of the newer "ghost country" songs That Ian Tyson track is pretty nice Morgan |
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:39 pm
That Wade Hayes song is pretty decent. Is he like 12 in that video? Holy shit, that Carrie Underwood though. Words are failing me.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:42 pm
You never heard "Before He Cheats" before? That song was like number one for a million weeks, pop and country
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:44 pm
eli - 2/8/10, 10:47 pm Yeah he does, I don't understand country's current fascination with Jimmy Buffet, but whatever still a good song How can you like this stuff and not like early Jimmy Buffett? He's like, the patron saint of this stuff! His cameo on that Alan Jackson track is shamefully awesome.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:45 pm
Haha I just don't like his voice really
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:48 pm
| "Alcohol" is decent, I guess Brad Paisley is okay. Tom T. Hall would've done that exact
song way better in the 70s though. eli - 2/8/10, 11:42 pm You never heard "Before He Cheats" before? That song was like number one for a million weeks, pop and country I don't have radio or TV! |
eli - 2/8/10, 11:49 pm
I do like Tom T. Hall. On another topic I think we're gonna do a Soul version of "Washed My Hands in Muddy Water" by Stonewall Jackson
chrissie - 2/8/10, 11:53 pm
There was an album of Tom T. Hall covers awhile back; I liked it...
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:56 pm
Eleven Hundred Springs is all right, they had me with the Luckenbach logo though. Is it scary that Garth Brooks sounds "country" compared to some of this stuff? I remember when that dude first came out. Can't handle Lucinda Williams saying "why you wanna dis me". Never really got her though. The David Ball one is okay, but the chorus is kind of weirdly sung. So melodramatic.
eli - 2/8/10, 11:58 pm
Most of this music is pretty melodramatic, you just kinda gotta take that in stride I suppose. That is definitely one of the more country Garth tracks, but I love his power ballads too
Morgan - 2/9/10, 12:00 am
| J.P. Harris and the Tough
Choices - they were pretty great when I saw them a few months ago. I two-stepped a few songs, no
lie. I think they're friends of Kathe's? IMAGE REMOVED - CLICK TO VIEW |
Morgan - 2/9/10, 12:07 am
Here's another awesome Ian Tyson track, my Dad LOVES this record with just cause: Ian Tyson "Navaho Rug.
Morgan - 2/9/10, 12:08 am
So legit, and yet recorded in the 80s: Hazel Dickens "A Few Old Memories".
Eli - 2/9/10, 9:08 am
Taking out the big guns for the morning Deana Carter - Strawberry Wine
tintern - 2/9/10, 9:19 am
Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:15 pm and "Kerosene" might as well be the Goo Goo Dolls. You say that like it's a bad thing.
Eli - 2/9/10, 9:21 am
Funnily enough Morgan I'm not a big Hazel Dickens fan. I really prefer Connie Smith or Kitty Wells if we're talking about that kind of singing. Hazel is a little folky for me
neogonzo - 2/9/10, 9:27 am
man i have always liked seminole wind only in country could a guy as ugly as john anderson be rich
tintern - 2/9/10, 10:10 am
| Have so much catching up on listening to do in this thread. Never thought I'd like Alan Jackson till
now. Favorite song of mine when I was teenager (and still to this day): Steve Earle - "Copperhead Road" |
Eli - 2/9/10, 10:12 am
tintern - 2/9/10, 10:10 am Have so much catching up on listening to do in this thread. Never thought I'd like Alan Jackson till now. YES! Seriously he's so good. Here's one of my favorites from a couple albums ago Alan Jackson - Strong Enough
djd - 2/9/10, 10:51 am
The place I'm coming from here is that, at least in the multiple crowds I hung out with, it was imperative to like old honky-tonk, classic bluegrass, Steve Earle/Texas legends, new string bands, new country-tinged singer-songwriters like Lucinda Williams—in the words of No Depression, "alt-country (whatever that is)," and it was NOT OKAY to like commercial country. It was all "oh it's so great for Lori McKenna that Faith Hill is recording her songs (but it's not like I listen to Faith Hill)." At some point I decided that this attitude was absurd, and that I should actually listen to some contemporary country radio. And some of it is good. Even though that opinion is uncool. The end.
tintern - 2/9/10, 11:10 am
What DJD just said. Exactly. As long as it's fun to listen to while I'm driving, I don't care.
tintern - 2/9/10, 11:20 am
Whoa those John Anderson songs are really great. Just bought his greatest hits off amazon. I swear I remember that Alan Jackson "Chattahoochee" song from when it first came out.
Morgan - 2/9/10, 11:33 am
tintern - 2/9/10, 9:19 am Morgan - 2/8/10, 11:15 pm and "Kerosene" might as well be the Goo Goo Dolls. You say that like it's a bad thing. You say that like we're not posting in a thread about "awesome [...] country music."
meestameesta - 2/9/10, 11:39 am
Eli - 2/9/10, 9:08 am Taking out the big guns for the morning Deana Carter - Strawberry Wine when i was in high school, my best friend and i used to go to this all-night diner and play that song over and over and over on the jukebox. actually most of these songs remind me of high school, pop country was HUGE in my hometown. i banned country requests at my wedding because i knew my friends would just request garth brooks all night, and the DJ played "friends in low places" anyway. i think this thread needs some jo dee messina. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNOUNFNYAmA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41yfUIOWg6w
Morgan - 2/9/10, 11:42 am
Eli - 2/9/10, 9:21 am Funnily enough Morgan I'm not a big Hazel Dickens fan. I really prefer Connie Smith or Kitty Wells if we're talking about that kind of singing. Hazel is a little folky for me Yeah, I could see her being an acquired taste. But she's still surprisingly modern, in the sense that she was still making good country records into the 80s. djd - 2/9/10, 10:51 am The place I'm coming from here is that, at least in the multiple crowds I hung out with, it was imperative to like old honky-tonk, classic bluegrass, Steve Earle/Texas legends, new string bands, new country-tinged singer-songwriters like Lucinda Williams—in the words of No Depression, "alt-country (whatever that is)," and it was NOT OKAY to like commercial country. The end. I see what you're saying, but there's a viable alternative which is to admit that a lot of "alt-country" isn't that great either, at least compared to the pre-80s stuff it's nominally derived from. So I guess we don't totally disagree - I think some of the hot country that Eli posted is better than that Lucinda Williams song, or lots of Wilco or Son Volt or whatever. But in the end, whatever, one fan's trash is another's treasure, etc. I own like six Jimmy Buffett LPs and recently paid actual money for an LP of Jerry Jeff Walker's backing band.
Morgan - 2/9/10, 11:45 am
And don't even get me started on new string bands and neo-newgrass!
RyanMcGinty - 2/9/10, 12:22 pm
i think alt-country and modern country both make a lot of the same mistakes and are way more similar to each other than either is to any kind of respectable old country
Eli - 2/9/10, 3:34 pm
RyanMcGinty - 2/9/10, 12:22 pm i think alt-country and modern country both make a lot of the same mistakes and are way more similar to each other than either is to any kind of respectable old country I think "respectable" really is a bad word here. Country music from all eras has played to its audience whether that be through novelty songs or whatever. I think it's shortsighted to say that Alan Jackson is somehow less "respectable" than Hank Williams
tintern - 2/9/10, 3:40 pm
Um, since when have country stars been "respectable"?
Eli - 2/9/10, 3:41 pm
Also true
Morgan - 2/9/10, 6:44 pm
I'd say there's a pretty huge difference in how directly involved the music industry is in Alan Jackson etc.'s career compared to Hank's. Both directly in terms of image and marketing, but also indirectly in terms of how much contemporary pop country has built on the commercial strengths of 75 years of music while discarding whatever didn't sell.

I think Alan Jackson is a bad example if you're trying to make that point (there are lots of others that work though) because he really worked, putting out his own records and touring for years in obscurity. That being said if Fred Rose hadn't discovered Hank, we probably wouldn't be talking about him right now and Fred Rose was definitely part of the Nashville establishment of the time
Morgan - 2/9/10, 6:55 pm
| Yeah, I was just picking a dude at random. But still, even if he was out on his own there's much
more of an industry success template for "country music" now than there was back then. But I also don't think "respectable" is the word I'd use; plenty of awesome country dudes were total showbiz hounds. They were just showbiz hounds in less crappy eras. |

I kind of like that song actually, but it's just rock with a drawl and slide guitar. Makes the Flying Burrito Brothers sound like the Carter Family.
eli - 2/9/10, 10:34 pm
Morgan, that's certainly true. I think one of the more interesting things about modern country music (post 1985 or whatever) is that it kind of absorbed all these different genres of American music that fell by the wayside. When Southern Soul fell out of favor after disco hit, many of the songwriters, musicians and singers (at least the white ones, to be frank) moved to Nashville and started making the same type of records with country singers. The same thing happened with Southern Rock and, to a lesser extent, Blues. That's what makes country music today interesting as a genre; it's not really "country" persay but more of a combination of all these different styles of distinctly Southern music.

years. i only listened to country for about less than a year when i musta been pretty young, 9 or
10, and my parents were into it. there are a few artists/songs that stick out to me and bring me
back. i still think most of garth brooks' songs are good. shameless? come on. there's a few
others worth mentioning for nostalgia's sake: most of these are pretty fun and amusing songs by unhandsome men. i can't believe i'm even saying this. a lot of these videos also subscribe to the r.kelly school of mouthing lyrics in time colin raye - that's my story and i'm stickin' to it colin raye - my kind of girl joe diffie - pickup man diamond rio - meet in the middle - 6 mullets at once doug stone - jukebox w/a country song sammy kershaw - don't go near the water hal ketchum - small town saturday night |

| I'd say the rock/soul/etc. influences were noticeable as far back as the 70s when you started seeing
keyboards, backup singers, basslines that didn't just go 1-5-1-5, all that weirdness. Jerry Jeff
Walker's version of "Looking for the Heart of Saturday Night" (from like 73-74 I think) is
not only a Tom Waits cover, but also a pretty loose interpretation of "country music," and
totally rules. Anyhow, what do you think of Marty Stuart? I wanted to believe in him because of the bluegrass thing, but he never did much for me. |

I had no idea you were so in to country at that time. I pretty much got into it around the same time (probably when I was 7 though.) My dad and I went to Nashville when I was 10 and went to the Opry, got to meet Little Jimmy Dickens and saw Doug Stone. It was a pretty amazing trip. I'm really happy this thread has been joined by some other people who grew up with some of this music. I was just listening to my Sammy Kershaw best of on the Subway yesterday! | Oh and also, it is true it is UNBELIEVABLE how many ugly, ugly men are successful in country music.
It is the only genre I can think where this is true. Look at Alabama, those guys are disgusting.

Yeah that is certainly true, I realized my years were off right as I posted that. Some of that stuff started even earlier as Muscle Shoals and Memphis guys defected to Nashville. I haven't heard that Jerry Jeff Walker track, you should put that up if you have it, I'd love to check it out. I love Marty Stuart as a person and for what he's done for the genre and for his whole aesthetic but his music unfortunately just isn't that good. He just can't really sing |

| Posting for a friend. This is a queer posi event started by some people who are very involved in the
gender free country dancing Gays For Patsy group that has events in JP. I'll update it as I know
more. Also, I'm trying to help fine two males that can model for a promo shoot. Cute/good looking/in
shape is key. I might start a thread just for that. Ideally you'd have cowboy boots, but they may be
able to get some for you. Queer or queer comfortable a must. Might arrange it so faces don't show
(cowboy hats tipped low, cowboy hats supplied)... anyway... DIRTY WATER SALOON (starting 3/3) Verve Lounge 811 Massachusetts Ave Boston, MA 02118 US We're starting a country-western dance night on Wednesdays at Verve Lounge in Boston. It's an easy spot to get to - Mass Ave at Melnea Cass Blvd, just off I93 with parking available in the adjacent garage. We'll be playing a mix of two-step, swing, shadow, waltz, and line dancing. and we're gathering some of your favorite songs by contemporary artists like Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Taylor Swift (plus some surprises!) We hope to see you there, and please forward this evite to all your favorite dancers and close friends who want to see what all the excitement is about. There will be lessons before the actual dance for people wanting to learn! |
