| hey, my roommate, and probably your friend, Wendy's bike got stolen sometime this morning from our
house in east somerville on Myrtle st. Its a pretty small bike, i'd say around 52 cm, its Blackish/grey and had drop handle bars. its one of those bikes that the dude in framingham makes. its most distinguishable features are neon green duct tape on the frame and a dinosaur bell. this sucks! if you see or hear anything let me know. |

that really sucks. keep your eyes open. bike thieves can be remarkably stupid. also, fill out a police report if you still have the serial number. it can come in really handy if you find your bike and it's locked up.

I AM ON THE LOOKOUT! seriously this blows and i will keep my eyes open.
Cultband - 7/3/09, 9:02 am
its actually 50 cm, so its even smaller looking!

write down serial numbers for all your bikes like now. or slide a laminated piece of paper with your name on it in the seat tube.

oh dang this totally stinks! i will look out for it as well.

You know how they have that lojack stuff for cars? Do you think people in Boston would pay for a similar service for bikes?
jared - 7/3/09, 9:16 am
I think the thing with that is that you can hide the transponder thing in a car really well.
Kyle - 7/3/09, 9:17 am
you could stuff a small one inside the head tube or something
ryantheterrible - 7/3/09, 9:19 am
I was thinking of like a small gps things under the seat or in the seat tube.
Kyle - 7/3/09, 9:19 am
yeah that's not a bad idea. you could just sell seatposts that are like that, because then if someone stole the seat/seatpost you could still track it and smash them
ryantheterrible - 7/3/09, 9:19 am
hrmm, not a bad idea.

yeah but the boston bike thieves are reading this thread now. now they know. what about if you just ride a sweet fixie with nobr akes? then any potential thief would never be able to do the awesome skid stops you do and they'd be forced to ditch the bike 100 yards away
