Invitation: Fancy dinner at my house Saturday

Let me just preface this by saying we will dine upon the flesh of beasts, and if you are a vegetarian you will still be hungry when you leave. But for all those without this scruple. I am going to make up a fancy dinner on Saturday. I'm talking about like three or four courses. I can seat maybe 5 people in my kitchen. I can cook.

First people to RSVP will take it. The price of admission is to bring more beer or wine than you will drink, so when you leave, you had a rad meal and there is beer in my fridge. I shop, cook, do the dishes, clean the house beforehand. Time is TBD, evening. Menu suggestions are accepted.

Course 1: Butternut squash and parsnip soup with croutons and fried sage and parsley leaves. Heavy on the coconut milk. I didn't really think it was so hot but everybody told me it was delicious because they are good people.

Course 2: Shrimp and tilapia tacos. With pineapple and radishes, cilantro and lime. Very fine for one's circulation on a cold day.

Course 3: Braised lamb shanks, horseradish mashed potatoes, and apple cider cabbage. Succesful.

Dessert: Sweet ricotta and beet crepes. With clementine segments and chiffonaded basil. Sweet ricotta cheese may catch up to crack yet.

The highlight of the meal was when Matt plunked the container of ricotta sauce on the table and handed around spoons.
