i love godflesh, don't get me wrong.

but i can't even fucking handle how amazing jesu is
A_New_Model - 6/16/06, 12:45 pm
I think pound for pound, Godflesh is the heaviest live band I've ever heard.
TheDanguardAce - 6/16/06, 1:14 pm
Pound for pound ? Definitely.
There arent many heavy bands with only two guys :)
A_New_Model - 6/18/06, 6:52 am
Exactly, TheDanguardAce.

Blistering bass lines!
Jesus!
TheDanguardAce - 6/18/06, 7:10 am
I miss a song by them. Cant even remember its name. it was on a comp with Napalm Death, Carcass, Terminal Cheescake and a bunch of other bands.
Like a dufus i sold it. At the time (98) i didnt ever think i'd wanna hear it again. Now 8 yrs later this thread makes me want to.
I think i'll look it up and see if i can find one cheap.
A_New_Model - 6/18/06, 8:41 am
If I'm not mistaken, that song is Devastator/Mighty Trust Krusher, but I could be thinking of a different comp.
detuned - 6/18/06, 2:02 pm

jesu not so much
TheDanguardAce - 6/18/06, 2:27 pm

harryrusso - 11/27/06, 5:32 pm
Jesu's going on tour in 2007 its gonna be sick. does anyone else think justin broadrick sounds like Mark Hoppus a little on the new Jesu EP?
R.Schwarzkogler - 11/27/06, 5:39 pm

jebb - 11/27/06, 5:59 pm

depechechoad - 6/30/09, 9:25 pm
top because streetcleaner rules and top because jesu is my favorite emo band.
George - 6/30/09, 9:38 pm
i retract this thread since everything post silver pretty much sucks
johnvonb - 6/30/09, 9:47 pm
I denounce this detraction but yeah some material is way way better.
QuickSam - 6/30/09, 10:02 pm
streetcleaner > everything by jesu, by a lot.

I dig jesu a bit, but it's incredibly monotonous, and it doesn't transfer well at all live. godflesh might sound a little dated sometimes, but if you're able to contextualize that stuff, I think it's incredibly rewarding. streetcleaner is a mammoth.
dan g - 6/30/09, 10:22 pm
Hey! This thread isn't about Godspell!
A_New_Model - 7/1/09, 5:21 am

nicholas3 - 7/2/09, 9:19 pm
jesu sucks
Czarnobóg - 7/2/09, 9:45 pm
I should give Godflesh another chance. I saw them years ago when they opened for Napalm Death and thought they sounded like a poor man's Ministry and wasn't really into them. They were actually a pretty boring live band all around, if I remember right. I don't think I've ever heard any of their recordings though.
depechechoad - 7/2/09, 10:21 pm
have you guys heard techno animal?
the stuff justin did with kevin martin aka the bug
this record is brutal.
Mxyzptlk - 7/2/09, 11:10 pm
